Invaders hit nitric acid tank again in Luhansk region - Gaidai
The Russian army again fired at a tank with nitric acid near Rubizhne, Luhansk region
This was announced by the head of the Regional Military Administration Sergiy Gaidai in Telegram.
"Do not come out of hiding. If you are indoors, close the doors and windows", he wrote.
Gaidai urged to prepare protective face masks moistened with soda solution.
First aid: if nitric acid gets into the eyes, rinse them with running water for 10-30 minutes. In case of contact with the skin, wash the affected surface with water, adding baking soda and soap to it. If nitric acid is swallowed, gastric lavage with large amounts of water is required.
Reference. Effect on humans: nitric acid is dangerous when inhaled, swallowed and in contact with the skin and mucous membranes. Acid vapors are irritating to the respiratory tract. With mild poisoning, there are signs of bronchitis, mild bronchiolitis, dizziness, drowsiness; in severe poisoning - pulmonary edema. To protect against vapors and mist of nitric acid, gas masks are used. When applied locally to the eyes, nitric acid causes severe damage with extensive necrosis of the cornea and conjunctiva, leading to loss of vision.
"We follow the direction of the wind. Follow the information", he wrote.
