Invaders are trying to improve tactical situation in southern Ukraine - General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

"The fortieth day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion continues.

The invader continues to conduct a full-scale armed aggression against our state. In order to prepare for an offensive operation in the east of Ukraine, the aggressor command is deploying elements of the operational formation of an offensive grouping and building up the command and control system. The occupying troops are regrouping and trying to improve the tactical situation in certain areas in southern Ukraine. The formation and movement of additional units of the Russian Federation to participate in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine is underway", the message says.

Meanwhile, the situation in the Volhynia direction has not changed; from Belarus, up to four battalion tactical groups of local armed forces cover the border.

In the Polissya direction, there remains a high probability of missile and bomb strikes on military and civilian infrastructure facilities by hostile aircraft operating from Belarusian airfields.

Units of the Eastern Military District and airborne troops are moving from the territory to Russian. The movement of weapons, military and personnel is carried out by rail and air.

"According to available information, separate units of the 35th Combined Arms Army (Belogorsk) and the 36th Combined Arms Army (Ulan-Ude) of the Eastern Military District are located in the areas of the settlements of Rechytsa and Yampol (Gomel region of the Republic of Belarus)", the General Staff noted.

In the Siversky direction, the invader completed the withdrawal of units from the Central Military District to the territory of the Kursk Region and proceeded to their further movement.

In the Slobozhansky direction, Russia continues to blockade Kharkiv, shelling the city, regrouping troops. Strengthens air defense cover of important objects in the area of ​​Belgorod and areas of concentration of troops in the Kharkiv direction. There remains a high probability of air and missile strikes against civilian targets in Kharkiv, and preparations are underway for an offensive in the direction of Slovyansk.

To clarify the positions of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the invader is conducting reconnaissance in the area of ​​​​the settlement of Barvinkove ​​using UAVs, and is also trying to restore the bridge across the Siversky Donets River near the city of Izyum.

Near the settlement of Brazhkivka, the invader carried out reconnaissance in force with the forces of a tank company tactical group, but had no success, retreated to the previously occupied lines.

In the Donetsk and Tauride directions, the invader concentrated the main efforts in the areas of the settlements of Rubizhne and Popasna, preparing for an attack on Severodonetsk, and also gaining full control over the city of Mariupol. The invader launched 8 air strikes on it today, and street fighting continues. Ukrainian defenders hold the defense of the city.

In the South Bug direction, Ukrainian troops are pushing back the invaders in the Kherson region. The aggressor conducted aerial reconnaissance in the Mykolaiv area using UAVs.

"In the Black Sea and Azov operational zones, the activity of the invader ship grouping in the Black Sea is reduced due to difficult weather conditions (storm up to 4 points). The rest of the invader ship formations perform tasks in certain areas", the General Staff added.
