Intense fighting continues for Bakhmut, Russia attempts offensive actions – Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff

The main efforts of the enemy are still focused on the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions. In the past 24 hours, a total of 53 combat clashes occurred in these specified areas, with Bakhmut and Marinka being the primary hotspots of the conflict.

Our defense forces launched 14 strikes on locations where Russian personnel are concentrated.

Throughout the day, the Air Force of the Defense Forces conducted 10 strikes on areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were located. Additionally, our forces successfully neutralized 4 strike UAVs and 7 reconnaissance UAVs of various types.

The missile troops and artillery units targeted 4 areas where the enemy's weapons and military equipment were concentrated. They also struck an ammunition depot, 4 artillery units in firing positions, 1 anti-aircraft defense position, and another strategically significant enemy target.

Russians carried out 7 missile and 70 aerial attacks in one day

In the last 24 hours, Russia has carried out 7 rocket strikes and 70 air strikes, launching 48 MLRS attacks on our troops' positions and populated areas. As a result, civilians have been affected, and numerous private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.

The likelihood of further missile and air strikes remains throughout Ukraine.

Occupiers in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions are turning schools into hospitals

The Russian occupation forces persist in transforming educational facilities in the temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine into military medical establishments. Specifically, a secondary school in the village of Azov, located in the Zaporizhzhia region, and a preschool in the village of Hladkivka, situated in the Kherson region, have been converted into field hospitals. These facilities are currently providing medical treatment to approximately 50 occupiers who have sustained injuries of different levels of severity.

Situation by directions

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian troops are on the offensive. Heavy fighting for the city of Bakhmut continues. During the day, they launched unsuccessful attacks in the direction of the settlement of Bila Hora. 

They also launched air strikes near 7 settlements and shelled 10 more in the Donetsk region with missiles and artillery. 

In the Avdiivka direction, Russian forces attacked in the direction of Avdiivka and 3 other settlements, but were unsuccessful. During the day, they launched an airstrike near Avdiivka, as well as artillery attacks near 8 other settlements in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defense forces repelled numerous attacks near the town of Marinka. Four settlements in the Donetsk region came under Russian fire, 2 suffered from airstrikes.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops launched unsuccessful assaults near Novomykhailivka over the past day. They also launched air strikes near 2 more settlements and shelled 6 others.

In the Lyman direction, Russian troops did not launch any attacks over the past day. However, they launched air strikes near 4 settlements in the Luhansk region, shelled 6 settlements in Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions.

On the northeastern border with Russia, its troops maintain military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. 

Over the past day, they launched air strikes near 1 settlement in the Kharkiv region, as well as mortar and artillery attacks on 18 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops launched unsuccessful attacks in one area. They also launched air strikes near 2 more settlements in the Kharkiv region, as well as artillery and mortar shelling of 9 settlements in the Kharkiv region and 1 in the Luhansk region. 

In Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops are on the defensive. They launched an airstrike on 3 settlements and shelled more than 40 settlements near the front line in the Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

On the northern border with Belarus, the operational situation remained unchanged, with no signs of offensive enemy groups forming.
