Information on arms for Ukraine before counteroffensive is unwelcome surprise for Russians – Defense Express expert Kyrychevskyi
Much of the information about weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces that is now appearing in public sources comes as an unpleasant surprise to the Russian forces
Defense Express expert Ivan Kyrychevskyi said this on Espreso TV.
“As it turned out, wheeled tanks went to our marines, which will strengthen our light infantry. It has also become public knowledge that one of the newly formed heavy infantry brigades has received American APKWS missiles, which are guided by a laser beam. These missiles are equally good at shooting down Russian Lancet UAVs and neatly carving out Russian firing points somewhere indoors,” he said.
According to the expert, this is an unpleasant surprise for Russians.
“Given the reports that Slovenia has supplied us with licensed copies of Austrian armored personnel carriers, which are good and will reliably protect the infantry in a counteroffensive. This is also a surprise for the Russians. A lot of things that are now appearing in our public sources for the Russians, judging by the tone of their descriptions, turn out to be a certain unpleasant surprise,” Kyrychevskyi said.
The expert also commented on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' preparations for the offensive.
“Moreover, given the specific type of combat operations that break through the enemy's echeloned defense, which clings to the fortifications, the most invisible stage of preparation is the accumulation of electronic warfare equipment that will jam Russian communications. As well as the accumulation of various kinds of drones that will destroy their targets. First and foremost, they will disrupt the Russian communication system. This determined the success of the Kharkiv counteroffensive. Obviously, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will try to repeat this during the new counteroffensive, which is expected in a few weeks,” he concluded.
