Ukraine's drone attack disrupts Russian production of Kh-59 missiles – Intelligence

Ukraine's Defense Intelligence reported this incident.
The message states, "On October 1, 2023, the production process of various modifications of Kh-59 missiles was disrupted due to an attack on the Smolensk Aviation Plant."
According to reliable intelligence information, three out of four drones successfully hit their target, causing significant damage to the military facility.
The Kh-59 missile, particularly in its Kh-59MK2 modification, falls under the "air-to-surface" class and has a range of up to 280 km. Russian Aerospace Forces frequently deploy these missiles in attacks on both military and civilian targets in Ukraine. The regions most affected by such attacks include Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.

The Russian Federation also reported drone attacks in the Smolensk and Krasnodar regions, while in Sochi, drones targeted a parking lot for Russian helicopters.
