"Half of the African countries condemn the Russian military invasion of the territory of Ukraine, and the other half say that this is not their war. However, when we begin to explain that the invasion of the Russian Federation may lead to famine, they begin to understand it. That is, because of the threat of famine, Africans are beginning to understand what the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine can lead to," Haran explained

The political scientist added that many African countries believe that Ukraine is a member of NATO.

"Also, we emphasize to our colleagues from Africa the threat posed by the Russian troops at the ZNPP. Another thesis that works for Africans is that they fought for independence and we are fighting for it. They are non-aligned countries and so are we. Putin attacked a non-aligned country in 2014. However, they are often surprised by this information because they believe that Ukraine is a member of NATO," he added.
