Illegal actions in Kherson region: Russian military cuts Kakhovka hydroelectric station off from power grid - General Staff
Invading Russian forces have turned off the Kakhovka hydroelectric station, causing a blackout in parts of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions
The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their evening update.
During September 5, the Russian invaders launched more than 40 attacks from rocket salvo systems and more than 25 airstrikes aimed at hitting military and civilian objects on the territory of Ukraine. In particular, in such settlements as: Zalyman of the Kharkiv region; Dmytrivka, Bohorodychne, Zaitseve, Kodema, Soledar, Yakovlivka, and Krasnohorivka of the Donetsk region, as well as Dorozhnianka of the Zaporizhzhia region.
Seversk direction: the border areas of settlements in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions were shelled.
Kharkiv direction: the Russian enemy shelled the areas of the settlements of Uda, Odnorobivka, Sosnivka, Dementiivka, Nove, Pytomnyk, Borshchova, Ruska Lozova, Ruski Tyshki, Petrivka, Momotove, Bayrak, Slobozhanske, Husarivka, Mospanove, and Chepil.
Slovyansk direction: the settlements of Krasnopillya, Virnopillya, Dibrivne, and Bohorodychne were shelled.
Kramatorsk direction: the settlements of Donetske, Piskunivka, Kryva Luka, Siversk, and Spirne were shelled.
Bakhmut direction: Mykolaivka, Vesele, Bilohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Kodema, Zaitseve, and Maiorsk settlements were shelled.
Avdiivka direction: the settlements of Oleksandrivka, Avdiivka, Vodiane, Krasnohorivka, and Marinka were shelled.
Novopavlivka direction: the settlements of Vilne Pole, Vremivka, Novomykhailivka, and Kermenchyk were shelled.
Zaporizhzhia direction: the settlements of Zelene Pole, Novosilka, Novopillya, Huliaipole, and Chervone, were shelled.
Southern Bug direction: shelling took place in the areas of Kvitneve, Shevchenkove, Lyubomirivka, Novohryhorivka, Posad Pokrovske, Ukrainka, Prybuzke, Lymany, Lupareve, Myrne, Oleksandrivka, and Tavriyske settlements.
"Invading Russian forces continue to commit illegal actions in the Kherson region. For example, the Russian occupiers turned off the Kakhovka hydroelectric station, which caused the blackout of part of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions," the General Staff noted.
