IAEA representatives arrive at South Ukrainian NPP

Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency arrived on a monitoring mission at South Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant in the Mykolaiv region.

Ukrinform reports.

IAEA experts will stay at the station until the end of hostilities in Ukraine.

"Taking into account all the risks and current situation, we came to the conclusion that we need to strengthen the agency's presence at Ukrainian nuclear power plants. We started with the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which is the largest in Ukraine. Now we are expanding this mission to all nuclear power plants. This is only the first step. We will continue our activities in this direction," IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said.

Two representatives of the IAEA will be present at South Ukraine NPP as part of the mission, who will monitor the situation at the plant, provide technical support and advice to Ukrainian specialists, and record all non-staff situations for further reporting.
