Grossi emphasized that constant shelling of the territory around Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant occupied by Russian troops cause for concern. Director General of IAEA stressed that he would not like a repeat of 1986 tragedy that happened at Chornobyl NPP.
"My commitment is to reach a solution as soon as possible. I hope by the end of the year", Rafael Grossi said, commenting on the situation at ZNPP.
Grossi did not rule out a meeting with presidents of Russian Federation and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Our goal is to avoid nuclear accident, not to create military situation that favour either one party or the other," Grossi said.
