IAEA Director General Grossi responds to accusations against his Russian deputy: He does not work for a specific country
IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said that his deputy, head of the Department of Nuclear Energy Mikhail Chudakov works not for Russia, but for an international organization
He said this when answering a question from Suspilne.
"We are an international organization, we must have representatives from all over the world. And when a person comes to work in an international organization, he works not for a specific country, but for the IAEA. I am Argentine, but I do not work for Argentina. We cannot give in to this", Grossi said.
The publication notes that Mikhail Chudakov has been Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Energy since February 2015. Prior to joining the Agency in February 2007, Chudakov was Director of the Moscow Center of the World Association of Nuclear Operators.
Prior to that, Chudakov held a number of senior positions in the Russian Rosatom since 1995.
At the beginning of his career, the Russian worked in various positions at the Kalinin NPP, in particular as a senior reactor operator.
