Russian subversive groups most active in Sumy region - Ukraine’s Border Guard Service
State Border Guard Service spokesman Andriy Demchenko said that Russian subversive groups are constantly trying to infiltrate the territory of the border regions, with the most cases recorded in Sumy region
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The border of the aggressor country is different from the border with Belarus. On the border with Belarus, the situation remains fully controlled by the State Border Guard Service and other units that reinforce this area. We do not record any unusual situations on this section of the border," said Demchenko.
The spokesman emphasized that the Defense Forces units are constantly detecting and counteracting Russian subversive reconnaissance groups.
"Russia is shelling border communities from its territory on a daily basis. In particular, Russians are constantly shelling the territories of Sumy, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions. They also frequently use subversive reconnaissance groups. Thus, attempts of subversive reconnaissance groups to infiltrate are most often recorded in the Sumy region. However, our soldiers understand the complexity of the situation and are constantly training to counter such enemy sabotage," he added.
