According to the spokesperson, Ukrainian forces are currently trying to gain a foothold in this area in order to "completely deny the invaders any further movement in this direction and make the railroad ours."

In the south, units of the "Offensive Guard" have advanced deep into the Russian army's defense, and are now consolidating and repelling enemy attacks.

Russian elite troops currently operating in the western part of Zaporizhzhia have been unable to stop the gradual but steady advance of Ukrainian troops since mid-August.
