Tagesschau reported that when asked whether Germany would participate in an international coalition of fighter jets, Scholz said no.
“The question is not as relevant as it is being raised,” Scholz said.
The chancellor added that Germany is focusing on tanks, ammunition, creating a viable system for repairing military equipment, and air defense.
Scholz also assured that he did not feel any pressure on Germany in the discussion about supplying Ukraine with fighter jets.
“There are no demands for us,” Scholz said after the Council of Europe summit in Reykjavik.
