Germany will not provide combat aircraft to Ukraine - Olaf Scholz

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has ruled out the transfer of combat aircraft to Ukraine. He also emphasizes that Germany will not deploy its troops to Ukraine

Spiegel reported the chancellor’s statement.

"I made it clear very early on that it's not about combat aircraft and I'm doing that here too," the chancellor said. 

"Under no circumstances will we send ground troops. I said there will be no direct involvement of NATO soldiers in the Ukraine war. This has not been the case so far and will not be the case in the future either," Scholz added.

• On January 25, Germany approved the supply of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine and allowed re-export by other countries.

• On January 25, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine, as it does not send soldiers to the front and does not send aircraft.
