Germany wants to start training Ukrainian military on Leopard tanks no later than February

Germany wants to start training the Ukrainian military on Leopard 2 tanks in a few days. A company of 14 tanks requires up to 100 people for maintenance

This was announced on January 25 by a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense in Berlin, Spiegel reports.

According to him, the training may begin "possibly this month," but no later than early February.

The goal is for Ukraine to be able to integrate main battle tanks into its defense by "the end of this quarter."

According to the spokesman, the training on Leopard tanks should last as long as the training on Marder IFVs, i.e. 8 weeks. A company of 14 tanks, including maintenance, requires 50 to 100 people.
