Germany prepares winter aid package for Ukraine's air defense
The German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, announced that Germany is assembling a winter aid package for Ukraine, with a focus on enhancing their air defense capabilities
This is reported by Tagesschau.
Scholz emphasized the importance of providing Ukraine with everything necessary for air defense.
Germany plans to deliver an additional unit of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system, along with new Iris-T systems, Gepard anti-aircraft tanks, and additional ammunition.
In addition to this military aid, European nations will discuss the financing of support for Ukraine, which also ties into the European Union's medium-term financial plan.
In September, Germany's Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, affirmed that despite economic challenges, the German public remains committed to supporting Ukraine in the face of full-scale Russian aggression.
