Germany plans to train about 5,000 Ukrainian soldiers by spring
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced that Germany wants to prepare a full Ukrainian brigade of up to 5,000 soldiers by spring.

This is reported by FAZ with reference to Scholz's statement in the Bundestag.
“Thus, we emphasize our readiness to participate in the long-term development of strong Ukrainian Armed Forces - side by side with our partners,” Scholz said.
According to Scholz, on Monday, EU foreign ministers agreed on a new training mission for about 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers. One of the two headquarters will be in Germany.
At the same time, Olaf Scholz called for closer European and international coordination of military support for Ukraine.

On October 18, Germany handed over five Bergepanzer 2 BREMs, winter uniforms, and equipment to Ukraine. The German side also handed over 167,000 cartridges for small arms and seven pontoon systems.
