Germany pays $14 million for transporting Ukrainian grain to Ethiopia

The German Embassy in Ukraine reported about this.

"Ukraine shows great solidarity with people in north-east Africa at a time when it itself needs support. Germany supports the initiative through UN World Food Program (WFP) and covers transportation costs of $14 million for ship which this week left the port in Odesa. 1.6 million people in Ethiopia will be able to get grain that will cover their needs for at least one month", German Embassy emphasized.

Diplomats also reiterated that the Black Sea should remain open, because the world needs grain grown by Ukraine.

25,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat are already on their way to Ethiopia.
