German government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann said this in a comment to Interia.
"We do not say no to the transfer of Leopard to Ukraine, because we have not yet received an official request in this regard," she said.
Hoffmann stressed that the German authorities have not received any requests from Poland regarding the possibility of transferring Leopards to Ukraine.
"In such matters, decisions are made together with partners," the German government representative said and denied that Germany was waiting for Washington's position.
- On January 11, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the leaders of Poland and Lithuania Andrzej Duda and Gitanas Nauseda in Lviv. Duda said that Ukraine would receive a company of Leopard tanks as part of an international coalition.
- Finland may transfer Leopard tanks to Ukraine if other countries do it first and the corresponding project of assistance to Ukraine is launched at the European level.
