German Foreign Ministry sees Russia deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus as intimidation attempt

The German Foreign Ministry has criticized Russia deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus and called it an "intimidation attempt"

This was reported by Welt.

"President Putin's comparison with NATO's nuclear distribution of forces is misleading and cannot serve as a justification for the step announced by Russia," the report said.

It is also noted that Belarus has previously made several international statements that the state is renouncing nuclear weapons.

The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) notes that distributing  Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus could lead to disaster.
