The president of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Jamie Fly has called on Ukraine's authorities to thoroughly and transparently investigate the alleged surveillance of the publicist and journalist, political commentator of Radio Liberty Vitaly Portnikov.

"We call on the Ukrainian authorities to thoroughly and transparently investigate the possible surveillance of Vitaly Portnikov. A free press means freedom from harassment and intimidation. It is important that democratic governments ensure that journalists do not become targets for their work, even during wartime," said Fly.
Vitaly Portnikov is a well-known Ukrainian journalist, publicist and political commentator. Works with Radio Liberty and Espreso. On the Espreso TV channel, he creates the programs "Political Club of Vitaly Portnikov" and "Saturday Political Club".
