France to hand over 36 prefabricated bridges to Ukraine
French company Matiere will provide Ukraine with 36 prefabricated bridges, to be installed in locations where previous crossings have been destroyed by the invading Russian forces
This is reported by Ukrinform with reference to the statement of Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba at an online briefing.
"Together with the French government and the Federation of French industrialists MEDEF, we agreed on the transfer to Ukraine of 36 prefabricated bridges 23 to 46 meters long from the Matiere company. These structures will be able to quickly replace the destroyed Ukrainian bridges, and later replace them on a permanent basis," Kuleba said.
He also noted that the French company Matiere has many years of experience in the rapid deployment of bridge crossings for road and rail transport, especially in countries with infrastructure destroyed by hostilities.
"As early as July 25, the company's engineers will arrive in Ukraine and conduct a joint evaluation mission with Ukravtodor engineers. The company is potentially considering the possibility of deploying the production of these bridge crossings in Ukraine," the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine added.
