This was reported by Voice of America, citing a senior Pentagon official.
"In the latest announced package of weapons, we focused on providing Ukrainians with capabilities that they can use immediately to change the balance of power on the battlefield," the US defense official said.
In addition, he noted that after suffering serious losses in Bakhmut, Russia is trying to strengthen its positions along the entire front line with tens of thousands of mobilized soldiers. However, these soldiers are "poorly equipped, poorly trained, and rushed to the battlefield."
The Pentagon also confirmed that despite Russia's offensive efforts, the Ukrainian military continues to successfully defend itself, including in the Bakhmut region.
- As reported, in two large-scale military aid packages, the United States announced the transfer of more than 100 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, which are called "tank killers," to Ukraine. The Ukrainian military is currently undergoing several weeks of training on these systems in Germany.
