Fire breaks out in truck warehouse in Magadan, Russia

In Magadan, Russia, a fire has broke out in a warehouse with repaired trucks: the fire area has reached 600 m2, the premises contain RUB 15 to 20 million worth equipment  

Russian media TASS and the Russian Emergencies Ministry's Magadan Region Directorate reported the information.

On February 17, Russian media and institutions reported a fire in a warehouse with trucks in Magadan: the fire covered almost 600 m2 .

According to rescue teams, the fire was difficult to extinguish due it covering the large area. In addition, heavy smoke and the threat of structural collapse hampered the efforts.

Local media reported that the warehouse contained recently repaired trucks worth RUB 15 to 20 million. They were supposed to be transported to Chukotka the next day, however almost everything burned.

According to Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, in addition to transport equipment, the warehouse contained fuels and lubricants, flammable liquids, and automobile tires.

As of 4 a.m. on February 17, the fire was extinguished.
