Finland's accession to NATO will be celebrated at a ceremony on April 4. In particular, the Finnish flag will be raised at NATO headquarters in Brussels.
"This will make Finland safer, and it will also make Sweden safer," Stoltenberg emphasized.
The information about Finland's accession to the Alliance on April 4 was confirmed by President Sauli Niinistö. He will visit Brussels to attend the accession ceremony at NATO Headquarters. In addition to the president, the ceremony will be attended by Finnish Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen.
Finland will also deposit its instrument of accession to NATO at the US State Department. This will take place before the meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
Before the ceremony, Niinistö and Stoltenberg will hold a bilateral meeting and a joint press conference.
