The "governor" of temporarily occupied Sevastopol, Mykhail Razvozhaev, shared this information on Telegram.
He wrote at 04:08 that the Russian Navy "repulsed an attack by surface drones on an external raid," and all city services are on standby.
Later, the occupying governor added that there was an attempt to attack Sevastopol at 03:30 in the morning, and one surface drone was destroyed, while the other exploded by itself. No objects were damaged. Currently, the city is calm, but all forces and services are on high alert.
On the telethon, the spokesperson for the AFU Air Force, Yuriy Ihnat, responded to the information by stating that such targets are challenging to shoot down. He mentioned that they had witnessed the Russian attempts to destroy them.
Ihnat explained that surface drones are not a new concept, and they are a difficult target to hit.
"Ordinary drones that move on the water surface are a target that is rather difficult to hit. Therefore, the means of modern warfare using UAVs of various types will be increased," Ihnat stated. He added that Russia is also enhancing its UAV capabilities.
In previously occupied Crimea, Russian troops had set up a radar station to detect air, sea, and land objects near the city of Kerch.
Additionally, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had reported that Russia had relocated some of its combat units from Skadovsk to Crimea.
