Explosions in Mariupol, fire breaks out on Russian military base
Several powerful explosions occurred in the temporarily occupied Mariupol late in the evening of December 14. According to preliminary data, a fire broke out at the location of Russian troops
The Mariupol City Council telegram channel reported the information.
"Powerful explosions were heard. Something is burning behind Port City. Ambulances are now on their way there. We are waiting for details and official information from the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the message reads.
Journalist Denys Kazanskyi reported a large-scale fire in Mariupol. He later mentioned that the fire was spreading near Russian troops' position on the premises of a concrete plant.
Journalist Andriy Tsaplienko also reported on his Telegram channel that "a location of the occupiers in Mariupol was struck."
The Mariupol Now local Telegram channel reported that the strike likely targeted a concrete plant in the area, presumably where Russian troops were positioned. Firefighters and ambulances arrived at the scene.
At 12:25 a.m. on December 15, a message surfaced on the Telegram channel of the Russian propaganda outlet RT: "Ukrainian Armed Forces fired three long-range missiles towards Mariupol." The propagandists cited the "DPR" terrorist organization and added that they did not provide any other details.
