Explosions in Crimea slash Russian Black Sea Fleet's naval aviation capabilities - UK Defence Ministry

The naval aviation capabilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet have significantly decreased in the wake of the explosions at Russia's military base in Novofedorivka, Crimea on August 9.

The British Defense Ministry informs about this on Twitter.

"The naval aviation capability of the fleet has now significantly decreased. This incident will probably force the Russian army to reconsider its perception of the threat, because for them Crimea was previously perceived as a safe rear," the message says.

The Ministry adds that the loss of eight combat aircraft is only a small part of the total aircraft fleet of the Russian army for the war in Ukraine.

"Basically, Saki was like a base for the aviation of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia," the British Ministry clarified.
