On June 22, a series of explosions occurred in the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol and the village of Yakymivka, Zaporizhzhia region, as a result of which the Russian troops tightened control over the residents

Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov reported this.

“The morning of the occupiers clearly did not start well in several still occupied settlements of Ukraine. Enemy bases, logistics routes, and opportunities for escape are being minimized,” the mayor wrote.

In total, more than 8 explosions were heard in Melitopol, the loudest in the north of the city, in the area of concentration of Russian military equipment. In Yakymivka, a military base in the medical warehouses was probably hit.

In the temporarily occupied Chonhar, a road bridge used by the Russian army to transport heavy weapons from Crimea through Melitopol to Zaporizhzhia and other destinations failed.

In a panic, the occupying Russian forces increased pressure on residents:

  • at the checkpoints on the way out of Melitopol,

  • they are carrying out 'filtration' in Yakymivka,

  • they are turning civilian cars and trucks around at Chonhar,

  • in Tokmak, they stop people, demand documents and tear up Ukrainian passports.

At the same time, Russian media claim that the FSB detained 'saboteurs' in Melitopol who attempted to assassinate pseudo-officials and were preparing to blow up a railroad.

Among the detainees is a girl who, according to propagandists, confessed to her involvement in an attempted assassination of “the head of an enterprise in the Zaporizhzhia region.” The enemy also extracted confessions from three other so-called saboteurs.
