Explosions continue near Antoniv bridge, Russian forces pull engineering equipment, barges to crossings - Regional Council Deputy
Serhiy Khlan, deputy of the Kherson Regional Council, has noted that Russian forces learned to urgently patch potholes on bridges, but added that Ukraine keeps all these sites under constant control.
He told Espreso about this.
"This night was tense, the enemy was concentrating on holding their positions. Tonight, August 26, airstrikes were carried out on enemy positions. It is reported from the occupied Kherson region that explosions were heard near the Antoniv bridge, which is already traditional in recent times. Explosions rang out again in Novaya Kakhovka and Beryslav, that is, the Armed Forces of Ukraine consistently destroyed the enemy's rear reserves and kept the transport arteries under control," said the deputy of the regional council.
Serhiy Khlan noted that Russia is stubbornly setting up various crossings, including a floating one, using barges, as well as hastily repairing the road surface of the Antoniv bridge.
"The occupiers have adjusted recently and made a certain supply of construction materials near the Antoniv bridge, they stole metal from the Kherson ship repair plant and are rebuilding the bridge covering with the help of metal. If we talk about the Kakhovska HPP dam, the Russians have made a stock of road slabs there, which are used to repair potholes. The occupiers brought a large amount of engineering equipment to these two crossings. The enemy began to rebuild a floating bridge from barges near the Antoniv bridge, the barges are fastened together and fixed to the piers of the bridge, and a road surface is laid on top of the barges, accordingly, they plan to use this structure as a floating bridge But our artillery will work on this target as well," Khlan explained.
The deputy of the regional council concluded that the enemy has learned to urgently repair holes from our artillery, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine keep all these objects under constant control.
