Explosion near Voronezh airfield: authorities claim shooting down "Ukrainian reconnaissance drone"

According to Russian media, on the night of January 2, near the Baltimor airfield, Voronezh, where Su-34 bombers are based, Russian forces have allegedly shot down a "Ukrainian reconnaissance drone"

"At night, air defense forces shot down a small reconnaissance drone launched from Ukraine on the approach to Voronezh," the government of the Voronezh region informs.

Ukrainian telegram channels reported on the explosion in Voronezh near the Baltimor airfield where Su-34 bombers are based.

“There were explosions near the Baltimore airfield in Voronezh, Russia. A regiment of Su-34 front-line bombers is based there. Russians write that air raid alarms sounded at the airfield. Karma in action.”

The explosion set off air alert alarms in the city.

The explosion was reportedly heard in the sky, most probably as the result of the air defense operation. There were no casualties or destruction.
