Exhumation of victims in Bucha comes to end, 412 bodies already found - mayor

In Bucha in the Kyiv region, the collection and exhumation of the bodies of those killed during the temporary Russian occupation is being completed

The mayor of Bucha Anatoliy Fedoruk announced it.



 

Currently, 412 dead have been found in the city. According to Fedoruk, the number of dead can still be clarified by investigators and experts, the wounded are being counted. A mass grave near the church of St. Andrew the First-Called was singled out as a separate case. 117 dead were found there, including 30 women and 2 children.

 

"They were killed, shot and tortured by the invaders, there are burnt bodies of civilians. There are hospital patients who could not be buried after February 24, because the Russians did not allow the ritual service at the cemetery. There are several guys from the Armed Forces of Ukraine", the mayor said in a statement.

 

He noted that the identification of the dead continues. Near the morgue there is an Information Center that helps relatives find, identify and bury their relatives. There is also a call center and there are volunteers at the Administrative Services Center who provide information by phone: +380683282892.

 

The City Council pays for coffins, crosses, wreaths and plaques to the families of the victims. There is also the required number of places at the cemetery on st. Deputatska, burial is also free.

 

"We want to help families bury the dead within the next week, before the memorial days", Fedoruk added.
