Excluding Russian titanium from EU sanctions gives Russia the opportunity to produce missiles, air defense systems, submarines - General Malomuzh
Head of Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service 2005 to 2010 Mykola Malomuzh believes that it is most important that violating sanctions acts as a powerful chain that blocks everything. However, global interests prevail, in particular global aviation companies that have a clear interest in this project
He shared his opinion with Espreso.
Mykola Malomuzh commented on the exclusion of the Russian titan from the EU sanctions list.
"Indeed, Airbus (one of the world's largest aircraft construction companies - Ed.) in this situation initiated the issue of excluding titanium from the sanctions list, but Boeing (one of the world's largest aerospace and defense corporations - Ed.) and other powerful companies are also interested, which produce missiles, submarines, etc. Similarly, Russia will get a perspective for the development of this industry. Raw materials come from different parts of the world, including Ukraine, and from Crimean Titan (an enterprise in Crimea, the largest producer of titanium dioxide in the territory of Eastern Europe - Ed.), that is, raw materials are sent there from the sanctioned territories, processed, and the finished titanium goes to strategic ports of participating countries. Russia also uses this titanium for missiles, for Kalibr, for powerful anti-aircraft systems, for submarines, as well as to upgrade missiles. That is, the titanium industry is basic in such production", the general explained.
Malomuzh noted that the main thing is the violation of sanctions as a powerful chain that should block everything. And here they make real concessions, because their own interests prevail, in particular the aviation companies of the world, which are interested in this project.
