The Security Service of Ukraine reports.
Ukrainian Security Service detained a former fighter of the Prizrak terrorist group, who hoped to "lie low" in Odesa.
Counter-intelligence of the Security Service exposed another member of the LPR terrorist organization, who took an active part in military operations against Ukrainian troops in the east of the country, and later left for Russian Federation. During a multi-stage special operation, Ukrainian counter-intelligence agents established his location, and therefore detained him in Odesa, where he hoped to "lie low".
According to Ukrainian Security Service, the perpetrator, who left for Rostov-on-Don in March 2015, is a resident of the southern region. In Russia, he joined an illegal armed formation called "Angel", which, among other things, secretly supplied weapons and ammunition to the terrorists of the so-called "LPR" under the guise of "humanitarian cargo" from the Russian Federation. While in the ranks of militants, he was engaged in the logistical support of "Prizrak" division, which was part of the 2nd occupation corps of the Russian Federation in the captured areas of the Luhansk region.
"In addition, the perpetrator took direct part in the preparation of "staged" stories for information resources of Kremlin - Ukrainian security forces emphasize. - During propaganda activities, he used his own "example" to popularize terrorist groups and called for their support among local residents."
So far, investigators of the Ukrainian Security Service have notified former militants of suspicion under part 1 of Art. 258-3 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. And the court chose him as a preventive measure in the form of detention.
In the meantime, investigation to establish all the circumstances of the criminal activity and bring to justice other persons involved in it continues.
A special operation to expose and detain militants was carried out by the Ukrainian Security Service of Odesa region under the coordination of the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service and the procedural leadership of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
