Evacuated Azovstal fighters will be brought home in prisoner swap once their medical condition is stable - Vereschuk

The Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereschuk said that the Azovstal fighters evacuated to occupied Novoazovsk and Olenivka will be brought home in a prisoner exchange for Russian POWs once their medical condition stabilizes.

Vereschuk shared the update in her Telegram channel.

On May 16, 52 seriously wounded fighters were evacuated from Azovstal.

"After their condition stabilizes, we will exchange them for Russian prisoners of war. We are working on the next steps of these humanitarian operations. God willing, everything will be fine," wrote Vereschuk.
