European Parliament president calls on world to continue supporting Ukraine
On March 23, President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola called on the world to continue supporting Ukraine, as “the price of freedom cannot be too high”
She said this during a press conference following a meeting with EU heads of state and government, Ukrinform reports.
She emphasized the need to avoid signs of fatigue and noted that the munitions agreement is a turning point for the EU.
“The main message I conveyed to the heads of state and government from the European Parliament is that we must continue to support Ukraine in its self-defense. We must continue to demonstrate solidarity and avoid any signs of fatigue, despite what has already been achieved. The agreement on the supply of ammunition that was reached earlier this week is a turning point for the European Union itself,” Metsola said.
She also emphasized that Ukraine's freedom is important for the EU, as it is a factor of peace.
“Europe will always stand for peace, for real peace, for responsibility and justice. But for there to be peace, Ukraine must be free. It is important for the EU that Ukraine is free. The price of freedom can never be too high,” the EP President commented.
