EU will ban export of laptops and cameras to Russia in new sanctions package - Politico
The 9th package of the EU sanctions against Russia is aimed at undermining the Russian military and industrial complex to reduce the Moscow’s ability to finance war on Ukraine
Politico reported this referring to the draft documents it obtained.
The EU also wants to expand the list of sanctioned goods of the aviation and space industry, adding to it aircraft engines and their parts, as well as "laptops, hard drives, cameras and lenses".
In addition, the European Commission proposed expanding the sanctions list to include 169 organizations that supply Russia with goods "that can contribute to the technological enhancement of the Russian defense and security sector."
A separate document detailing the list of new organizations subject to sanctions provides for the suspension of broadcast licenses for Russian channels NTV/NTV Mir, Rossiya 1, REN TV, and Pervyi Kanal (First Channel).
It is also proposed to introduce sanctions against Russian military formations. In particular, the list includes the commander of the neo-Nazi group Rusich Jan Petrovskiy, who maintains close ties with the Wagner PMC.
Export controls are proposed for drone engines, chemical and biological equipment, riot control equipment and electronic components.
