Later it became known that the Chinese leader commented on the war in Ukraine during a meeting with Scholz. Reuters reported this.
Xi Jinping called on "all parties to work together to restore peace as soon as possible and prevent the war from getting out of control." In addition, he noted that China supports efforts for a peaceful settlement, in particular, an international peace conference "with equal participation of all parties."
