EU backs Ukraine against Russia in international court case genocide claims
The European Union has submitted information to the UN International Court of Justice as part of Ukraine's case against Russia over the genocide claims that Russia used to justify its invasion of Ukraine

On August 17, the EU submitted information to the court relating to genocide accusations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Ukraine v. Russian Federation) under Article 34, paragraph 2 of the Statute of the Court and Art. 69, paragraph 2 of the court rules.
"We are grateful to the EU for joining the case of Ukraine against Russia at the UN International Court of Justice on charges of genocide. Justice will prevail," responded the representative office of Ukraine to the EU.
