As reported by European Pravda, Tsahkna’s statement was cited by Postimees.

The minister noted that after the detention of the oil tanker Kiwala — part of Russia’s so-called "shadow fleet" — in Estonian waters, the vessel addressed serious deficiencies and was then allowed to continue its voyage.

Tsahkna said that the detention of Russian shadow fleet vessels in Estonia, as well as recently in Finland, shows that such actions do not go unpunished and that they have the ability to stop them.

According to him, all deficiencies identified during the detention were corrected, an inspection was carried out, and the vessel was released.

  • On Wednesday, April 9, Estonian President Alar Karis announced constitutional amendments that will strip Russian and Belarusian citizens of their right to vote in local elections in Estonia.
