According to a representative of the Israeli Defense Forces, the number of hostages held by Hamas militants has increased to 212 people.
IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed at a press conference on Sunday, October 22, that Hamas militants had captured 212 people on October 7.
The Biden administration has so far been steadfast in its support for Israel, pledging to back the country in its fight against Hamas. President Biden also stated that efforts to free other American hostages continue after Hamas, with the help of Qatar, released Judith Raanan and her daughter Natalie Raanan.
After the first attack, 10 Americans are still missing.
