Energy system is under control, but emergency blackouts are possible in Kyiv
Situation in Ukraine's energy system is under control, but consumption limits have been established for all regions. Emergency power outages are possible in Kyiv after the night attack
Ukraine’s national electricity company, Ukrenergo, shared an update.
"On the night of January 2, Russian troops again attacked energy infrastructure with drones. Unfortunately, there is some damage," the company said.
"At the same time, as of 11:00 a.m. on January 2, the situation in the energy system is fully under control.
"Due to network restrictions caused by significant damage to main networks as a result of 11 missile and 14 Russian drone attacks, in order to prevent additional accidents, consumption limits for the evening period have been brought to the regions," they added.
As for Kyiv, the situation has become more complicated there as a result of the nighttime Russian attack, but restoration work has already begun.
