Over the past day, 84 combat clashes took place at the frontline. Ukrainian forces repelled attacks in 7 directions eliminating 970 troops

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to May 8, 24 were approximately:

  • personnel - about 477,430 (+970) people,
  • tanks - 7,418 (+13) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 14,246 (+19)artillery systems - 12,317 (+30) 
  • MLRS - 1,057 (+0) 
  • air defense systems - 792 (+0) 
  • aircraft - 349 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0) 
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9,728 (+11),
  • cruise missiles - 2,151 (+2)
  • ships/boats - 26 (+0)
  • submarines - 1 (+0)
  • motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 16,549 (+40) 
  • special equipment - 2,019 (+2).
 

General Staff's report: 84 combat clashes took place at the front: Russia advances in 7 directions

 The operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains without significant changes.

The Russian army maintains a military presence in the area of the northeastern Ukrainian border, conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 16 attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka, Pishchane, Berestove in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces defeated 3 attacks near Nevske in Luhansk region and Terny in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukraine rebuffed 17 attacks in the areas of Verkhnekamianske, Vyimka, Spirne, Rozdolivka, Ivanivske, Novyi and Andriivka in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian troops fought off 27 attacks in the areas of Oleksandropil, Novooleksandrivka, Prohres, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha, Umanske and Netailove in Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian military near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Vodiane and Urozhaine in Donetsk region. The Russian troops, supported by air power, tried to break through Ukrainian defenses 11 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian militants attacked Ukrainian positions 6 times near Staromayorske, Donetsk region; Robotyne and northwest of Verbove, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian troops are determined to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, they made 3 unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions.

The Russian army conducted 47 air strikes and fired 97 MLRS attacks on the territory of Ukraine

Over the past day, 84 combat clashes took place. In total, the Russian aggressor launched 1 missile strike, 47 air strikes, fired 97 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

At night, the Russian invaders once again attacked Ukraine with a massive missile attack. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties. Several high-rise buildings and other civilian and energy infrastructure facilities were destroyed and damaged. Detailed information is being updated.

Two settlements in Kharkiv region, 11 settlements in Donetsk region, 1 settlement in Zaporizhzhia region and 3 settlements in Kherson region suffered from Russian air strikes.

More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.

Ukrainian defense forces destroyed a 2C4 Tulip self-propelled mortar and a Russian control center

During the day, Ukrainian aviation and missile troops struck a 2S4 Tulip self-propelled mortar, a command center, 1 fuel and lubricant depot and 5 areas where Russian troops were concentrated.
