Russia loses MLRS system, 11 tanks and 1,300 soldiers per day — Ukraine's General Staff

Over the past day, 146 combat clashes took place on the frontline. Ukrainian defenders repelled attacks in 7 directions eliminating 1,300 troops

Ukraine's General Staff of the Armed Forces reports.

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to May 9, 24 were approximately:

  • personnel - about 478,730 (+1,300) people,
  • tanks - 7,429 (+11) 
  • armored combat vehicles - 14,281 (+35)
  • artillery systems - 12,340 (+23) 
  • MLRS - 1,058 (+1) 
  • air defense systems - 793 (+1) 
  • aircraft - 349 (+0) 
  • helicopters - 325 (+0) 
  • UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9,775 (+47),
  • cruise missiles - 2,192 (+41)
  • ships/boats - 26 (+0)
  • submarines - 1 (+0)
  • motor vehicles and fuel tankers - 16,618 (+69) 
  • special equipment - 2,027 (+8).
 

General Staff report: 146 combat clashes took place at the front: which direction Russia attacks the most

 The operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains without significant changes.

The Russian army maintains a military presence in the area of the northeastern Ukrainian border, conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces defeated 16 attacks in the areas of Petropavlivka, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Berestove in Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces fought off 11 attacks in the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, Novoliubivka, Tverdokhlibove and Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces rebuffed 26 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Andriivka, Verkhnekamianske, Novyi, Vyimka, Ivanivske and Klishchiivka in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders beat back 45 attacks in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Sokil, Novoselivka Persha, Kalynove, Novopokrovske, Semenivka, Umanske, Netailove and Nevelske in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian troops near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, Paraskoviivka, Vodiane and Urozhaine in Donetsk region. The Russian military, supported by air power, tried to break through the Ukrainian troops' defenses 11 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions 19 times near Staromayorske, Donetsk region.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian militants are determined to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, they unsuccessfully attacked Ukrainian troops' positions 4 times.

Ukrainian defense forces destroyed 2 artillery units and 10 Russian troops' concentration areas

Over the course of the day, Ukrainian aviation and missile forces struck 3 air defense facilities, 2 artillery facilities, 10 areas of personnel concentration and other important Russian forces' targets.

Russian army launches 60 missile strikes and 90 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the last day, 146 combat clashes took place. In total, the Russian aggressor launched 60 missile strikes, 90 air strikes, fired 107 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

At night, Russian invaders once again attacked Ukraine using 20 Shahed-136/131 UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 17 attack UAVs.

2 settlements in Sumy region; 3 settlements in Kharkiv region; 17 settlements in Donetsk region; 3 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region; 3 settlements in Kherson region.

More than 110 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions were under artillery fire.
