Russia loses 1,120 troops, 5 tanks and 21 armored vehicles per day in Ukraine

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from February 24, 22 to May 1, 24 were approximately:

• personnel - about 469,840 (+1,120) people,
• tanks - 7,312 (+5)
• armored combat vehicles - 14,067 (+21)
• artillery systems - 12,024 (+13) 
• MLRS - 1,053 (+0) 
• air defense systems - 780 (+1) 
• aircraft - 348 (+0) 
• helicopters - 325 (+0) 
• UAVs of operational and tactical level - 9,538 (+7),
• cruise missiles - 2,126 (+0),
• ships/boats - 26 (+0)

General Staff report: 122 combat clashes took place at the frontline: where Russia attacks the most

According to the General Staff, the operational situation in the northern Ukrainian border remains without significant changes.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts subversive activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fought off 6 attacks in the vicinity of Berestove, east of Kopanka in Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka in Luhansk region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian forces rebuffed 21 attacks in the areas of Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nevske and Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region and Terny in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops countered 33 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka in Luhansk region; Verkhnyokamianske, Rozdolivka, Spirne, Novyi, Klishchiivka, Andriivka and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces beat back 33 attacks in the areas of Arkhanhelske, Keramik, Sokil, Umanske, Semenivka, Yasnobrodivka and Netailove in Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are holding back the Russian troops in the vicinity of Heorhiivka, Paraskoviivka and Urozhaine in Donetsk region. The Russian military tried to break through the Ukrainian defenses 18 times.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian aggressor attacked Ukrainian defenders' positions 5 times near Staromayorske, Donetsk region; Robotyne and south-west of Bilohirya, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Russian troops are determined to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Over the past day, They launched two unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian troops' positions.

Russian army launches 8 missile strikes and 61 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the last day, 122 combat clashes took place. In total, the Russian forces launched 8 missile strikes, 61 air strikes, fired 129 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas.

The air strikes hit 2 settlements in Sumy region; 6 settlements in Kharkiv region; Serebryanske forestry, 1 settlement in Luhansk region; 18 settlements in Donetsk region; 1 settlement in Zaporizhzhia region; 3 settlements in Kherson region.

More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian forces destroy Russian troops' concentration area

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 12 areas where Russian forces were concentrated. Also, at night, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 2 Russian reconnaissance UAVs.

Missile troops struck at the Russian troops' concentration area and the anti-aircraft missile system.

• Toomas Väli, deputy head of the operational department of the Estonian Defence Forces General Staff, expressed his belief the Russians will not succeed in capturing the town of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region by 9 May.
