Duda's office: Volyn Tragedy is not for "Twitter diplomacy"

This was stated by the Secretary of State in the Polish President’s Office, Małgorzata Paprocka, on Polsat channel.

“The topic of the Volyn tragedy is being discussed in the negotiations between Presidents Andrzej Duda and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It is important to recall Duda's speech in Kyiv and President Zelenskyy's remarks in Warsaw, where he emphasized the importance of a dignified burial for every victim”, as mentioned by Paprocka.

She admitted that due to slight differences in their positions regarding the Volyn tragedy, it is necessary to find common ground through high-level discussions.

She also stressed the importance of engaging in negotiations in international relations rather than expressing positions on Twitter or other short-form platforms.

To provide context, the conflict escalated during the Second World War when the Nazis forcibly displaced Poles from several villages and replaced them with Ukrainians between November 1942 and February 1943. The Home Army considered this as "Ukrainians cooperating with the Germans against the Poles," leading to retaliatory actions starting in March 1943, which resulted in mass killings.
