Dozens of Russian soldiers refuse to fight in Donetsk region, disable their equipment

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this. 

"Amid successful combat operations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and due to significant losses in manpower, the number of refusals to participate in combat operations has increased among the occupying Russian forces," the General Staff reports. 

About 60 Russian servicemen from the 247th Air Assault Regiment of the 7th Air Assault Division of the Russian Federation refused to perform combat missions near the village of Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region. They partially disabled their own vehicles and armored vehicles.

Frontline situation

During the day, Russia launched 10 airstrikes and about 19 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and localities.

The threat of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. 

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire border line with mortars and artillery: over 15 settlements in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

Russian attacks in other Ukrainian regions

• In the Kupiansk direction, 5 settlements of the Kharkiv region came under artillery shelling. 

• In the Lyman direction, 5 settlements in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions came under Russian fire. 

• In the Bakhmut direction, over 15 localities in the Donetsk region were attacked by the invading Russian forces. 

• In the Avdiivka direction, more than 10 settlements in the Donetsk region were attacked. 

• In the Marinka direction, over 10 settlements in the Donetsk region came under shelling. 

• In the Shakhtarsk direction, more than 5 localities in the Donetsk region were shelled. 

• In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, over 25 towns and villages were subjected to numerous attacks by the occupying Russian army. 

Over the last day, 21 combat engagements took place.

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidate on the achieved lines, inflict artillery fire on the identified enemy targets, and carry out counter-battery measures," the Ukrainian military added.

Ukrainian Armed Forces' strikes on Russian troops

Ukrainian aviation launched 3 strikes on the invading Russian troops' military positions, and missile and artillery units hit 8 artillery pieces at firing positions, 2 electronic warfare stations, an ammunition depot, and an enemy fuel and lubricant depot.

• As of July 28, Russia has lost about 244,830 soldiers in Ukraine.

• Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces, said that the Ukrainian forces did not lose any positions in the Lyman and Kupiansk sectors.
