Downed Iranian drone has Ukrainian-made component
Three quarters of all components in the Iranian Mohajer UAV are of US origin. There is also a component manufactured in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Security Service is already investigating how it got there.
Military Television of Ukraine reports.
"Mohajer-6" was shot down by Ukrainian anti-aircraft fighters near Odesa about a month ago. The unmanned aerial vehicle did not fall apart, as usual, but accidentally landed on a wave, which allowed Ukrainian military to take it for study.
"Ukrainian Security Service specialists took it apart and found evidence of the aircraft's Iranian origin, including inscriptions in Farsi", the report says.
Ukrainian Security Service representative also told how Iran, which has been under sanctions for decades, managed to create a fairly modern model of weapons.
"Three quarters of all components are American. There are also components from Japan, China, Sweden, Austria. There is even one component of Ukrainian production. Now our services will find out how it got there", intelligence officer emphasized. All these components are completely civilian, anyone can buy them, intelligence representative said.
The story emphasized that now Ukrainian defense forces know all the features of the Mohajer design, it will be easier to counter the threat of Iranian drones.
