Defenders of Ukraine killed Major General Frolov from St. Petersburg
Today, April 16, 2022, Deputy Commander of 8th Army of Russian Federation, Major General Vladimir Frolov, was buried in Seraphim Cemetery in Russian city of St. Petersburg.
This was reported by Espresso.TV with reference to press release of Information Department of Governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Beglov.
"Volodymyr Frolov died bravely in a battle with Ukrainian nationalists," governor said.
Circumstances of liquidation of occupier major general by Russian side are not yet disclosed.
“On some wreaths was written was from "1st Army Corps of DNR". In view of this, it is possible to make a very cautious assumption about its liquidation in area of this connection, that this happened in Donetsk or Mariupol, " Ukrainian military publication Defense Express commented.
Note:
8th Army is part of Southern Military District of RF Armed Forces. These are ground forces.
Units of 8th Army operated in south of Ukraine, in particular near Mykolayiv, and group's headquarters were located in Chornobayivka. It was there in mid-March that Frolov's immediate superior, commander of t8th All-Military Army of Southern Military District of Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Andrei Mordvichev, was killed.
