Military intelligence identifies main Russia's goals in Ukraine war for 2024
Representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi named the main goals of Russia in the war against Ukraine for the next year during the Ukraine and the World Ahead 2024 discussion
This was reported by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine on Telegram.
According to Skibitskyi, Russia's main goals in the war against Ukraine for 2024 are to reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and maintain control over all temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.
"Putin's goals for the so-called 'special military operation' were not achieved either in 2022 or 2023. He is simply postponing them to the next year," he said.
Accordingly, liberation of all the territories captured by Russia remains a strategic task for Ukraine. According to the military intelligence representative, active operations on the Crimean peninsula will have an impact on other parts of the frontline.
"Today, Crimea is a transit zone for the supply of all weapons, ammunition, and personnel from Russia to our southern regions: Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions," Skibitskyi concluded.
- On December 14, Russian leader Vladimir Putin held a press conference on the results of the year: he stated that the goals of the war against Ukraine remained unchanged.
